This home was purchase over fifteen years ago by two glassblowers with small children. As life has changed and activities expanded, it was the desire of the owners to transform the dark, isolated rooms and create a space that would more accurately represent the owners’ aesthetic sensibilities, and provide a more welcoming and comfortable space for family and friends.
Modest changes were made, which included the removal of the walls that originally surrounded the kitchen and isolated it from the rest of the house. Additional adjustments included reorienting, repositioning, and in some cases removing existing doors, adding much-needed closets, and rearranging bathroom interiors.
The interiors were flooded with additional natural daylighting, and sleek European-style natural maple cabinets with concrete countertops, now serve as an appropriate backdrop to the owners’ collection of art, photographs, and eclectic furnishings
